Vietnam

Vietnam, officially the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, is the eastern most country on the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia. With around 90 million inhabitants, it is one of the world’s most populous countries.

Despite past political and economic volatility, Vietnam is now one of the fast growing nations in Southeast Asia. Since 2000, Vietnam’s economic growth rate has been among the highest in the world and in 2011, it had the highest Global Growth Generators Index among 11 major economies. Its successful economic reforms led to joining the World Trade Organization in 2007.

Like many ASEAN countries, Vietnam has influences from former ruling nations such as China and France. These influences can be experienced, tasted and seen in the culture, food and architecture to this day. Vietnam has many world heritage sites such as Ha Long Bay and a myriad of fascinating towns and cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city. Vietnam’s resilient culture, rich history and breathtaking natural beauty make it a draw for tourism.

There are several different documents required prior to working in Vietnam (more detailed information can be requested from our representatives). These include:

  1. Visas
  2. Work Permits
  3. Temporary Residence Cards

Regulations around work permits and Visas are quite strict. Those who violate these regulations are heavily penalised. Nevertheless, by operating within these regulations, Vietnam remains a fantastic choice for expats and locals alike.
